Gary Bowman - Executive Director A Message from the Executive Director

8 April 2019

Good Day, CMP Community Members,

First, thank YOU for your support of California Montessori Project!  I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside this outstanding group of staff, students and parents!

Being the Executive Director/Superintendent of CMP for 15 years has been an incredible opportunity, and, of course, a tremendous challenge.  Part of that challenge is navigating, and, as possible, de-fusing, legislation designed to destroy the Charter School movement in California.

Campus Yearbooks - $30 until 4/30!

Campus yearbooks are now on sale for $30 until April 30!  Please print out the order form and turn it in with payment to the office or order your yearbook online using the link below.  Make sure you fill out your child’s first and last name and their classroom.  Note that this is NOT the middle school yearbook but the campus yearbook.

It’s approaching that time again; time to take the CAASPP Summative Assessments. Each assessment period should last approximately a week. Needless to say, attendance is extremely important during this time. In the event of a planned absence, please let the office staff and your teacher know ahead of time so a makeup time can be scheduled. Last but not least, relax and encourage your child to do their best. The CAASPP Assessments were designed with the purpose of informing our teaching and learning. In other words, we want to know what your child knows. Thank you for your cooperation.

Congratulations to Scott Porter!  Scott currently serves on the Board and the CMP Community voted him in for another term.

Hula hoop girl Spring Is In The Air - Donations Needed!

As the beautiful weather continues, and the rains go away, we find ourselves in need of some materials for PE and Recess. If you are able to donate soccer balls, basketballs, tennis balls, playground balls, hula hoops, and yoga mats to the school, the students would greatly appreciate it! Gary Bowman - Executive Director A Message from the Executive Director: Fight the Good Fight…With Respect, Civility and Dignity

15 March 2019

“Fight the Good Fight…With Respect, Civility and Dignity”

In recent months, I have attended Charter School Conferences and Legal Forums, and have learned about the latest legislative proposals which would dramatically impact California’s Charter School Movement (indeed, supporters of Charter Schools have reason to be concerned about pending Assembly Bills 1505, 1506, 1507 and 1508).

I would state, there has NEVER been a time when the CMP community has NOT fought for the opportunity “to offer a quality, tuition-free Montessori Education that challenges our students to reach their full potential.”
