Gary Bowman - Executive Director

Dear CMP Community,

It’s only January, and it is starting to feel a lot like springtime (can’t wait)!  Great change is also happening within our CMP Leadership Team.  Please, read this important message, as follows.

After 18 years of service, Dorothy Hilts will be starting a new chapter in her life, as she retires at the end of the current school year.  Currently serving as the Dean II Administrative Designee at CMP-Elk Grove@Elk Grove, Dorothy has been instrumental in the growth of CMP, including the start-up of the CMP-Orangevale campus, where she served as Principal for five years. Dorothy has also served as Teacher, Board Member and Network Testing Coordinator.  Thank you for your 18 years of exemplary service to our CMP Community, Dorothy!

I am very excited to announce the transfer of Maria Ostendorf to fill the position at CMP-EG@Elk Grove, effective July 1st.  Maria has faithfully served the CMP-Capitol Community since 2003, serving as Teacher, Dean and Board Member.  As some of you may recall, Maria was instrumental in developing the Middle School at Capitol Campus, and served as the first teacher in the program.  I look forward to supporting Maria as she accepts this new position at CMP-EG@EG!

Earlier this week, Sara Meece accepted the new position of Network Secondary Program Specialist/Testing Coordinator.  Sara has been a lead teacher at CMP-American River since 2005, specializing in Math and Science.  She has assumed numerous leadership positions, including  Rosetta Stone mentor, Network Middle School Specialist, Teacher Induction Mentor, M.S. Curriculum Lead Teacher, Montessori Support Provider, Dean and Governing Board Teacher Representative.  Sara also received the Sacramento County Charter Teacher of the Year award in 2018.  As the Secondary Program Specialist, Sara will be collaborating with CMP teaching staff and administration to promote academic rigor, best practices and consistency, within our network-wide middle school program.  Thank you, Sara, for your continued service to CMP!

And, as always, Community Partners, thank you for your support!
