Mickey Slamkowski - Director of Program
Mickey Slamkowski has 25 years of experience in education and education management including human resources, marketing, operations, testing, and curriculum adoption and development. She has worked in private, public and charter schools, with infants through middle school students, including experience with at risk students in the Elk Grove Unified School District.
A Northwestern University graduate, she held the positions of teacher, Administrative Coordinator and Consultant for the Montessori Teachers College, a teacher training center in Sacramento where she eared her Montessori credential. Mickey developed the National Test, as well as study and testing guides for the Early Childhood Program. Ms. Slamkowski also served as a Board Member for the National Center for Montessori Education. She is currently a Commissioner for School Accreditation for the American Montessori Society.
Ms. Slamkowski served for seven years as Principal of the California Montessori Project-Elk Grove Campus, and currently serves as the Director of Program for CMP. This position allows Mickey to work closely with the Superintendent, Principals, Dean of Students, mentors, instructional staff, and central administration staff to achieve academic objectives of the network as well as promote programmatic consistency and excellence at each campus.
She oversees state testing, Montessori teacher intern training and staff professional development and evaluations. Along with the Superintendent and campus principals, Mickey is a member of the Leadership Team that oversees all personnel, curricular and operational aspects of the California Montessori Project.
